Last night I had the opportunity to hear a speech by Chad Hennings former Dallas Cowboys defensive lineman at the East Texas FCA Banquet held at Green Acres Baptist Church in Tyler, Texas.

Chad’s speech was titled “Legacy”. Hennings was not only an outstanding NFL defensive lineman but also was the Outland Trophy winner when he recorded 24 sacks his senior year at the Air Force Academy. Chad also served our country when he flew many missions over Iraq.

Over the course of the night Hennings recanted his many successes playing football, wrestling, and serving our country. He was driven to succeed and usually he did because of his outstanding work ethic. But like many others a point came in his life where he realized he was mortal and he couldn’t do it all without the help of our savior Jesus Christ. [more]
